The Artist's Magazine - Art Competition [Finalist]

Zoran Zelic's winning artwork for TAM Art Competition

Soft pastel artwork Parrot Fish Eye  by Zoran Zelic from ArchiCulture Design Studio was selected as a finalist in the Abstract/Experimental category of The Artist's Magazine 25th Annual Art Competition. The artwork is featured in the December '08 issue of the magazine.

The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world, with more than $25,000 in cash prizes. Award winners and honorable mentions are selected by the named jurors in each of five categories.

World Voices Project: Audio-Visual Installation - New York, NY



ArchiCulture Studio designed the visual identity, site and graphic elements of World Voices Project, an artistic audio installation that takes place at New York's South Street Seaport [Google Map] from July 20 through August 3, 2008.

World Voices Project, created by location sound engineer and artist Brenda Ray, is a mosaic of recordings of people reading the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights in their native language. The exhibition marks the 60th Anniversary of the Declaration, celebrated around the globe.

Museum of Anthropology - Patterns: Photography Competition [Finalist]

Zoran Zelic's winning photograph for MoA Photography Contest

At the 23rd annual American Visions National Photography Juried Competition, organized by The Museum of Anthropology at the California State University, photographs by ArchiCulture Design Studio received honorable mentions and were selected for the Exhibition at the Museum, opening September 4, 2007.

For this year′s competition theme, participants were asked to show their vision on the concept of PATTERNS reflected in the juxtaposition between human material culture and the natural world. After much deliberation, the judges selected the top 25 photographs based on composition, their ability to illustrate the main theme, and their descriptive label interpretation.

Design Within Reach - Champagne Chair ContestTM [Winner]

Zoran Zelic's winning chair for DWR Champagne Chair Contest

At the 4th annual Champagne Chair ContestTM organized by Design Within Reach, chair by ArchiCulture Design Studio was one of the winners, chosen from over 1,000 national and international submissions.

The Champagne Chair Contest has become a much-anticipated yearly event, challenging participants to create a miniature chair no larger than 4"x4"x4" from nothing more than the wire, cork and foil of no more than two champagne bottles, glue being the only permitted adhesive. The submissions are reviewed and the winning chairs are chosen by a jury made up of esteemed experts in the field of design. A selection of chairs goes on tour to DWR Studios around the country.
UPDATE: We visited the Champagne Chair Tour event at DWR Tribeca Studio in New York City on June 5, 2007.
